Anamosa, Jan. 18.--W. A. Hogan, Louis Gardener, Miss Kate Maurice and others went to Monticello on Thursday to attend the funeral of Matt Noyes. Mr. Noyes had many friend in this place. When he first came to Iowa he resided on a farm with an uncle, George Noyes, in Cass, north of Anamosa, but most of his life has been spent in Monticello. He had a remarkable memory and never forgot a name or a face. He was a man of unblemished integrity and honesty and Jones county and his home town have lost a citizen of sterling worth.
