Morley - Funeral services were held Tuesday at Anamosa for Orville I. Russell, 78, a lifelong resident of the Morley area. Mr. Russell died Saturday at Anamosa community hospital following a long illness.

Rev. Lloyd Dutro conducted the services with burial in Green Center cemetery. Pallbearers were Mr. Russell's nephews, Howard and Leo Miller, Ernest and Roger Clarke, Melvin Boots and Bud Barger.

The son of Edward and Mary Remaly Russell, he was born near Morley June 6, 1894, and grew up in that vicinity where he attended rural schools. He served in the armed forces in World War I and was a member of the American Legion;

Aug. 29, 1923, he married Alberta Clarke. The couple had one daughter. Until 1949 Mr. Russell farmed near Morley, then he operated a garage and service station until failing health forced retirement a few months ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and is survived by his wife; his daughter, Mrs. Richard Fry, Cedar Rapids; 2 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Fray Miller, Mechanicsville.
