Mrs. Emery Wood, 57, Olin and her son, Arthur, 16, died when a fire destroyed their home early Jan. 3. Another son, Harold, 17, escaped by jumping from an upstairs window of the burning building.

Mrs. Wood is a sister-in-law of Dale and Don Wood, Stanwood.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wood and her son were held at the Olin Methodist church Jan. 5.

Mrs. Wood is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Leroy Simmons, Olin and 3 sons, Leroy and Harold, Olin and Leonard, Anamosa.

The fire started shortly before 5 a.m. and 3 members of the Wood family were sleeping upstairs when it broke out. Mrs. Wood's body was found upstairs near a telephone and that of her son on the back porch.
