Karen Kay Carstensen Rouse
June 24, 1943–June 15, 2012

Karen Kay Rouse died June 15, 2012 at her home in Houston, Texas.

Karen was born June 24, 1943 to John and Aldenia Carstensen. She was raised in eastern Iowa and graduated from Midland High School, Wyoming, Iowa. She married Michael Rouse and had three children: Todd (Sheila) Rouse of Olin, Timothy (Monica) Rouse of Durant, and Tyler (Debra) Rouse of Mechanicsville.

Karen was a homemaker. She relocated to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1983 and then to Houston, Texas, where she resided for twenty-five years with her significant other, David Marotto. He died in November 2010.

Karen is survived by her three children; six grandchildren, Brock, Josh, Alex, Beth, Brighton, and Lacey; one sister, Judy Anderson of Marion, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Lahey Funeral Home is assisting with a private burial.
