Kristin Marie Ebert, 32, died at her home in Cedar Rapids on Monday, March 23, 2009.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009, at the Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction, Iowa. Visitation was 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery in Oxford Junction, Iowa.

Kristin was born on July 14, 1976, the daughter of Bernell Ebert and Diane (Sobotka) Ranbarger. She was raised in Lowden, Iowa and graduated from Clarence-Lowden High School in 1995. She loved her job and coworkers at The Cedar Grill at the Marriott Cedar Rapids.

Kristin was an avid sports fan, following her favorite teams the Chicago Cubs, San Francisco 49ers and, especially, the Iowa Hawkeyes. She also loved spending time with her niece and nephew and her cat, Chubbs.

Kristin is survived by her mother, Diane (John) Ranbarger, Danville, Virginia; her father Bernell Ebert, Mason City, Iowa; her sister, Stephanie (Scott) Duckert, niece Carsen Duckert, and nephew Cade Duckert, all of Saint Ansgar, Iowa; her maternal grandmother, Ann Sobotka, Maquoketa, Iowa and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ray Sobotka, and her paternal grandparents, Emil and Irene Ebert.
