Mr. Abraham (Abe) Allamand Jr.
March 15, 1882–October 8, 1953

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 from the Goettsch funeral home to the Evangelical and Reformed church for Abraham Allamand who passed away suddenly Sunday evening at his home northeast of Monticello. Rev. John Baumann was in charge of the services with burial in Oakwood cemetery.

Pallbearers included Martin Buol, Adam Buol, William G. Behrends, Neman Moore, George Schmidt and Ulrich Schilt.

Mr. Allamand was born near Monticello in Castle Grove township on March 15, 1882, the son of Abraham and Dorothy Accola Allamand. On December 14, 1904 he was married to Mary L. Arnold, and with the exception of five years the home was made in Richland township near Monticello. The couple became the parents of ten children.

Those left to survive his passing are: his wife, Mrs. Mary Allamand; five sons, Raymond, at home, Lawrence of Anamosa, Clarence of Stanwood, Karl of Portland, Oregon and George of Yuba City, California; five daughters, Anna, Mrs. C. L. Schofield of Monticello, Lillian, Mrs. R. E. Myers of Iowa City, Caroline, Mrs. Martin Neff of Lost Nation, Dorothy, Mrs. H. A. Turner of Victoria, Texas, and Mary Lou, Mrs. C. R. Guthrie of Center Junction. Other survivors include 24 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one brother, Lorenz Allamand of Monticello.

The Goettsch funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
