OMG! This is so cool, sorry I'm gushing, I just started researching this line of my genealogy, it's my cousin's fathers side and neither of us know much about it, so I thought I'd research it for her. Ok, if I'm correct, the family I'm seeking is Samuel Walker and Elizabeth Stover, one of their many children was John Samuel Walker(1850-1933). He and his wife Sarah Elizabeth Woodruff lived in Fremont, Johnson, Iowa for the 1880 us census. Sept 1880(after the census) they had a girl name Anna (or Annie) Walker. In 1885 they lived in Sharon, Johnson, Iowa for the State census. Now the reason I mention both census is because on neither of them is this child listed, some of her other siblings are. The only other thing I have gotten on her is that she was supposed to have died as a young child, which makes sense.
My problem is I cannot locate ANYTHING else about her. No mention of a grave, no birth certificate or death certificate, which there may not be.
I love my cousin to death and would love to be able to return the gift of family she's given me(long story)by giving her her father's family story (roy walker in oklahoma). Also any living Walkers in that location who can help further my research into this family would be really really great as well. I'm one of those people who love the whole story, pictures, family lore, all of it.
By the way, I am more than happy to share what I have thus far. I have a family tree on ancestry.com, in relation to this family it would be listed as Mitchell/Walker family.
Thank you so very muchLisa Mitchell/Valdez
