I have this name all the way back to 1740. Mine starts with Johann Wombacher in 1740 somewhere near Alsenau, Grensenbach, Germany. Any of this interest you at all? I even found the ship record for the Bremen Brig Ulysses Ship that brought the Wombachers over from Germany to Baltimore in 1837ish. Let me know if you want any of this.
