Early Johnson co. settelers Ebenezer Brown and father

Acording to "1915 Dinwiddie History of Iowa County, Vol. 1" In a Bio for son John R. Brown page 331 it states the following: "The father and parental grandfather of our subject were numbered among the earliest settelers of Johnson county, of this state...". The father was Ebenezer Brown (1830-1896) and the grandfather was I believe Joseph Brown (? - 1967). I am trying to verify the above statement with any Johnson county sources. If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks in advance.
