ruben b. 19 aug. 1841 ohio e. 28 may 1927 Ottawa ill. faather joseph, mother margaret kurcher, spouse Myrtle

1880 south maiden lane iowa city: rueben fike,fieman disillery, mert, louise 3 yaars, ellaa 1 both kids born in Iowa.

according to a family tree on ancestry: b. 1841 ohio, 1850,1860, 1870 milton ohio, 1877 married mrie myrtle thomas, 1880 lived in iowa city, 1900, 1910, 1920 lived in Ottawa Illinois.

so from what I can find they didn't live very long in Iowa City as louise was born in 1877 in iowa and they were here in 1885 but by 1900 they are in Illinois. there is no 1890 census as it was destroyed in a fire.
