some one on ancestry has a tree with john carney and his wifes obit.
John crney former resident of Lisbin at at home of his daughter mrs. geor reynolds in mt. vernon wed. of last week. hehas been crippled with rheumatism for a number of years and bed ridden. Lisbon Herald 26 jan. 1911

Mt. Vernon Hawkeye 4 jan.1877
on firt day of dec. 1877 in her residence in Sugar Grove in this twp. martha carney wife of john carney deceased was born 9 feb 1836, married 11 Feb. 18__. mother of two childen, 6 sons and 4 daughters all survive. her remains were buried in our cemetery 2 jan. 1878

If you contact cedar rapids library or linn county genealogical society with death dates I'm sure they can find the obits for you.
