Marriage Record

MONTGOMERYHOWARD

My g-grandfather, John Edward MONTGOMERY, was married to my g-grandmother, Elizabeth Catherine HOWARD, supposedly sometime in 1879. The 1870 census shows my g-grandmother's family in Pleasant Valley Township. I have been unable to locate my g-grandfather previous to 1880. There is no record of marriage in Iowa County where the 1880 census shows them to be living with a 1 month old daughter. Could someone look up the marriages of 1878-1879 and see if they can find a record of this marriage and the exact place and date? Thank you.
