My husband's grandfather is buried at Oakland but the only way we knew for sure was because my husband had to been to his gravesite many times as a child. A record of the burial was non-existent.

You might try contacting Oakland Cemetery, info below.........

Oakland Cemetery-Cemetery Hours:
7 a.m. - 9 p.m. Daily
Office Hours:
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday
Cemetery Superintendent:
Bob Deatsch (319) 356-5105
Email: bob-deatsch@iowa-city.org

Or he could have been buried in Cedar Rapids, which seems more likely since he lived there. Or his burial site could have been moved later on? He likely died in the hospital in Iowa City?? Not unusual.
