divorces are kept at the johnson county court house in iowa city, iowa. but I'm guessing that a date back that far is probbly stored off site of the court house and to get to these records you would have to have an employee go to the off site area and search. the last time I went which was several years ago they won't let you search by yourself and they have to take time away from their work to go with you. you could call the court house and ask.
