Railroad - 1911 Johnson County

In 1911 Frederick SCHLEY and his son, Clarence left Johnson County IA on a "immigrant train" with the livestock. They traveled to Sanborn County SD. His wife, Myrtle, and four children traveled on a "regular" train.
Is there a train museum in Iowa? What railraod line would have been running west at that time?
Looking especially for maps showing the train line and looking for train history/photos of that era. Thanks for any help
