I did go to recorders office today and checked for death, birth, marriage records and found nothing. do you know if she remarried in johnson county. I looked in iowa county on usgenweb and seen you have several queries there as well. in a 1937 newspaper in williamsburg iowa there was a dinner for mrs. sophie gorsh and it listed a Irene deninn of cedar rapids attending. also found sophie gorsh's obit. it listed 13 children born to her, 8 surviving; frank, george, fred, everett, eva allen, henry, clara smith, minnie hadenfeldt. those who preceded her in death were her husband in 1913 and children Mollie and jonnie when very smal, reno Euro, Lillie thomas, and edward.
