Dickerson/Long Family

DICKERSON AND LONG

Posted By: Sara Dickerson Thielen (email)

I am the descendant of John E. Dickerson (b. 1835 in Cambridgeshire, England) and Emma (Amelia) Long (b. 1846 in Penn) After the Civil War, some how John ended up in Iowa City, IA and was married to Emma on 20 Sept 1866 in Johnson Co. They had three children: Bert, Maria (Minnie) and Pearl Everett (my great grandfather). Emma Long was the daughter of Alexander and Mary Long who moved to Iowa City from PA between 1860 and 1870. I believe that Alexander was a cooper. My great-great grandfather John E. Dickerson was a broom maker and moved from Iowa City to Monticello, IA before they moved to Eau Claire, WI in about 1880.
I am looking for any relative who may have any information on the Long family or the Dickerson family. Please reply with any information.
