Thursday, January 11, 1968NORTH LIBERTY -- Avon Earl Alexander, 64, of North Liberty died Tuesday at Veteran's Hospital in Iowa City.
Services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at the Snell-Smith Funeral Home in Clinton, with the Rev. Richard Dempsey of First Presbyterian Church at Clinton officiating. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander was born June 12, 1903 at Grand Mound, Kan., the son of John and Ovetta Hunsaker Alexander. He married Eleanor Dickerson at Clinton on September 8, 1948 and moved to the North Liberty area about 12 years ago. He had been engaged in farming.
Surviving are his widow, 2 stepsons; Raymond of North LIberty and Donald Booth of Clinton; five grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
