Mrs. Levica A. McLaughlin, 79, 627 Orchard street, died at her home at 9:30 o'clock Sunday morning. She had suffered a stroke Thursday.
The daughter of Jeremiah and Louisa Stover, she was born May 15, 1862, in Johnson county, and resided in this county all her life, having been a resident of Iowa City the last 43 years.
Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of the Christian church, the Carnation Rebekah lodge and the American Legion auxiliary.
She is survived by four sons, George McLaughlin of Cedar Rapids, Jerry and Joe McLaughlin, both of Iowa City, and James McLaughlin, at home; one daughter, Miss Louise McLaughlin, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Euphemia Trine of Iowa City and Mrs. Ella Hauth of Denver, Colo.; three brothers, Scott Stover of Lone Tree and Joseph and Jacob Stover, both of Iowa City, and seven grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death March 20, 1898, and a daughter, Eliza McLaughlin, died in 1910.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at Beckman's, with the Rev. John Bruce Dalton of the Christian church officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
Members of Carnation Rebekah lodge, No. 376, will meet at 2 o'clock to attend the funeral in a body.
