Debbie Bryant, 66, of Coralville, passed away May 14, 2024 at her residence.

Visitation will be held from 11-1:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Lensing’s Oak Hill in Coralville. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Debbie was born on July 31, 1957 in Muscatine, Iowa to Wesley and Velma (Becker) Wheeler.

After graduating from Louisa-Muscatine High School, she went on to work at the Hygienic Laboratory at the University of Iowa. It was there that she met her husband, John Bryant. The couple married on June 12, 1976 at Danforth Chapel and to this union, two children were born.

Following retirement from the University of Iowa, Debbie worked at Colonial Lanes in the kitchen. She loved the atmosphere and especially serving up burgers to some of her favorite people!

Debbie was an avid bowler. She participated in bowling league for many, many years. She often traveled and played tournaments in Las Vegas and Reno…recently ranking 44th in the nation. She enjoyed volunteering at children’s bowling tournaments, camping and RVing with her husband, John and spending time with her family and friends.

Debbie is survived by her sons: Jason (Cynthia) Bryant and Stephen Bryant; grandchildren: Trevor and Lana Bryant as well as siblings: Faye Wheeler, Michael Wheeler, Carol (Terry) Gillette and Andrew Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, John in 2022.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family, c/o Jason or Stephen Bryant.
