Sandra K. Dennis, age 66 longtime resident of the Iowa City area died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday, July 10th at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her memory for Sandy Dennis Memorial Fund. Sandra Kay Dennis was born February 22, 1958, in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of George F. and Louise C. (Kadera) Dennis. Attending Iowa City schools, she graduated from West High School in 1976. Most of her working career involved her as a bookkeeper for various businesses in the area.

Sandy enjoyed many things in her life, shopping, candles, anything Snoopy, spending time on the water at lakes in Minnesota, Okoboji and the Coralville Reservoir; her pets of dogs and cats, and of course her grandchildren, nothing was better in this world than being Grandma. Sandy would often say I am wild child of the 70’s and that would pretty much explain everything!

Her family includes her children, Jesse Rohret (Rachel), Brian Rohret (Stephanie), Julie Rohret (Kait Achey) and Amber Corso (Trevor Holley); 4 grandchildren; sister, Lori Luker (Scott); and the Dennis Cousins, the Jim and Larry Jiras families, and the Swenka families.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gilbert.
