Kevin was born in Iowa City, Iowa on February 11, 1963 to Patricia Ann Richmond and Ora Jay (Marilyn) Pearson. He graduated from Iowa City West High School in 1982.

In 1985, he married Janet Lea Wombacher and they had three children, all of whom he loved passionately. Kevin and Janet moved to Glen Ellyn, Illinois in 1982 to attend college at DeVry Institute of Technology where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Electronic Technology. After graduating college, Kevin worked for Auditory Instruments for over 10 years, and then took ownership of the company. In 1989 they moved to Elmhurst, Illinois where they raised their family and resided for the next 31 years. Kevin and Janet then returned home to Iowa City in early 2020.

Kevin’s passions included restoring and repairing cars, spending quality time with his family, and caring greatly for his two dogs: Duke and Lola. Kevin’s exceptional work ethic and dedication was shaped by spending many summers and his junior year of high school working on his Uncle Bob’s farm in Hudson, Iowa. He was a NASCAR fanatic and regularly attended races all over the country. Kevin enjoyed assembling and flying remote control airplanes and was a longtime member of the APA Billiards League. In 2023 he joined the A.I.R.S (American Iron Racing Series) and fulfilled his lifelong dream of competing in a race.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janet; three children: Calvin Jay of Bloomingdale, Illinois, Maxwell Ray (Brittany) of Winfield, Tennessee and Madeline Anne of Iowa City; three grandchildren: Jaxson Arthur Pearson-Cooper, Remy Ray Pearson & Charlee Lorraine Pearson as well as six siblings: Connie (Edward Sakas), James (Carol Swartz), Terry, Larry (Angie), Katie and Robert (Valerie).
