In 1976, they moved the shop to Iowa City and shortly after Dave built the shop where Seydel Auto is currently located. In early 2000 Pat joined the shop. Pat has taken over the day-to-day operations for the past 10 years.

In his spare time, Dave enjoyed working on and playing with his “Adult Tonka Toys” on his acreage. He also enjoyed figuring out how gadgets worked and rebuilding them. Every year he planted sweet corn and canned with his kids. Above all, David was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Spending time with his family was the most important thing.
