Maye A. Tomas, 87 of Iowa City died peacefully Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center.

Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Maye A. Tomas memorial fund.

Maye was born March 12, 1918 in Cedar Valley, Iowa the daughter of John and Fannie (Muchula) Zousel. Maye worked for the University of Iowa in printing services until her retirement.

Maye enjoyed gardening, going to the senior center and shopping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Marilyn.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Tomas of Iowa City, IA; and by nieces, nephews, extended family and by many special friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, one niece and one nephew and her mother-in-law, Margaret Rogers.
