Funeral services for Clarence Gronewold 76, Iowa City, were held at Iowa City Dec. 18 with burial in Memorial Gardens at Iowa City. Mr. Gronewold died at University hospitals, Iowa City, Dec. 15.

The son of Enno and Betty Meggars Gronewold, he was born in Charlotte June 3, 1903 and was married to Norma Bluedorn in Davenport Dec. 12, 1928. He farmed until 1962 and then was employed by the University of Iowa physical plant until he retired in 1973.

He is survived by 4 sons, Laurence, Stanwood; LaVerne, Phoeniz, Ariz.; Merlyn, Muscatine; Galen, Iowa City; 3 daughters, Mrs. Russell (Arlo Ann) Sieck, Toddville; Mrs. Neomi Matthes, North English; Mrs. Allan (Sharon) Williams, Excelsior Spring, Mo.; 31 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Elmer, Donahue and Adolph, Long Grove; 4 sisters, Mrs. Malinda Martin, Mrs. Clara Skyles and Mrs. Sadie Lohse, Davenport and Mrs. Anna Roseland, Low Moor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 granddaughters, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
