Lois A. Furchtenicht Miller, 46, of San Bernadino, Calif., died Wednesday of gunshot wounds during a robbery in her home.
Services are pending in California.
She was born Sept. 15, 1943, in Iowa City, daughter of Edwin and Lillian Ruzek Furchtenicht. She married Roger Miller in 1965 in Rock Island, Ill. She attended West Branch High School and the University of Iowa College of Nursing. She worked at the Iowa City Press-Citizen in the 1960's. She moved to California in 1965 and worked at the Franklkin Press in Fontana, Calif.
She is survived by one son, Darren Miller, in the U.S. Navy at Norfolk, VA.; one daughter, Julie, at home in California; and one brother, Richard Furchtenicht of West Branch.
Her parents and one brother died earlier.
