Eloise was born on October 11, 1925 in Iowa City to Charles and Mabel (Messner) Anciaux. She graduated from City High School in 1943 and went on to work at Wayner’s Jewelry Store.

Above all, Eloise was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed spending time with her family. She worshipped her grandchildren and relished her seven great-grandchildren (so proud that one of them was a girl!)
