David Charles Mozena of Iowa City, Iowa, passed peacefully at home March 29th, 2023 with loved ones attending. He is preceded in death by parents Arlene (nee Bamsey) & Forrest "Jack" Mozena (Coon Rapids) and sister Janice Redshaw (Des Moines).

David was a veteran, having served in the US Army. A proud Hawkeye, he graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in business. He was a long-time owner of the car and truck rental agency, “Bill's Rentals, in Iowa City. When he closed the business, rather than retiring, he went on to work for Iowa City Transit for 18 years. He is known for making an appearance with his family on Wheel of Fortune in 1989. He enjoyed singing bass as a member of The Old Capitol Chorus, coaching Little League for his kids and listening to shows on NPR radio. David was a good neighbor, a thoughtful citizen, and a steadfast friend. He will be remembered as a wonderful Grandfather, a great Dad and a loving husband.

David is survived by wife JoDeen, brother Wayne (Des Moines), children Christian (Jane Moeckli) Mozena, Lynnette (Sean) Kreps, Marty (Jennifer) Mozena, Joseph (Sara) Mozena, Elise (Jon Day) Mozena and Valerie (Travis Brown) Mozena, grandchildren Jackson, Samson, Isaac, Zoey, Evelyn, Wyatt, Carlin, Brando & Kyrie Anna.

A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville, Iowa from 3:00 - 5:00 PM with a time of sharing to begin at 4:00 PM.
