Amelia L. “Millie” Hatcher, age 95 formerly of Tiffin died Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Crestview Care Center in West Branch, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Good News Bible Church in Iowa City where visitation will be held from 9:45am until 10:45 am Friday. Burial at a later date will take place at the Valley View Cemetery, Tripp Township, Bayfield County, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Valley View Cemetery, Tripp Township. Amelia Loretta Hatcher was born July 26, 1927, in Iron River, Wisconsin, the first born of 12 children to James and Marjorie (Martell) Tutor. She moved to the Iowa City area where she graduated from University High School in 1946, and later attended classes at Kirkwood Community College. For many years Millie worked in interior design with her business, Amelia Sewing Décor. She did so much more than simply own and run her design business, she was in land development, built homes, one very intelligent hardworking mother of six children!

Her family includes her children, Jerri Bruns (Del), Rick Walters, Michael Walters (Barb), Beverly Nelson (Larry), and John Hatcher (Pat), Jean Fisher; grandchildren, Boe and Shay Bruns, Fred Walters, Wylie and Yvonne Walters, Mieka Deeter, Kaitlin Hatcher, Josh and Jake Stewart, Kayla and Krystal Fisher; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Amelia’s siblings, Alice Mattson, Juanita Martin, Dorothy Bales, James Tutor Jr., Helen Henning, George Tutor, John Tutor, Gerald Tutor, and Florence Schacht. Millie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Jean; grandchildren, Katrina Fisher, Harrison Hatcher, and sisters, Ethel Bartholomew and Pearl Sittman.
