He was born September 10, 1954, to Albert Henry Sieck and Eunice Aline (Norman) Sieck in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was raised in a loving home outside of Denton, Nebraska and was the youngest son in a family of eight daughters and 2 sons. His childhood was full of laughter and love with countless aunts, uncles and cousins who were freely welcomed into his home. Fred was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska. He graduated from Lincoln High in 1972.

He was a long-time member of Spirit of Life Church in Kearney, serving as a member of the worship team there. He was a faithful worker for Spirit of Life and New Life Churches in a custodial capacity.

His heart for animals made a peaceful, loving home for cats Betty and Marley.

In recent years Fred was part of a men’s group that helped him to overcome an addiction. He also found dear friendships there that would enrich his last years and support him when he became ill. When asked by a sister how he found the inner strength to take that difficult step he simply said “I want to die faithful and sober.” He accomplished what he set out to do.

Fred was deeply loved by those who saw his uniquely kind and gentle soul. He was a man of few words, so when he spoke it came directly from his beautiful heart. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters Irma, Beverly, and Joyce and brother Albert. He is survived by one son and one daughter and nine grandchildren. He also leaves behind five sisters, Kathy, Patty, Sandy, Rhonda, and Mary and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, cousins and friends who dearly loved him.

Fred was surrounded by loving family his last days on this earth and was blessed by many God moments during that time. He is a chosen child of God and is now at peace with his Heavenly Father.
