Ivan Kaefring, 65, Oxford farmer, father of Fred Kaefring, Tipton; died at his home near Oxford, June 8. Funeral services were held in St. Peter's church, Cosgrove, June 10, with burial in the church cemetery.
The son of Fern and Gertrude Black Kaefring, he was born in Johnson county, Feb. 11, 1911 and was married to Mary Driscoll at Holbrook, Nov. 23, 1937.
He was a member of St. Peter's church and the Men's Catholic order of Foresters.
He is survived by his wife, 6 sons, Fred and Ray, Gerry, Robert, Francis and Dean, all of Oxford; 4 daughters, Mrs. Earlis (Kathleen) Stockman, Theresa Kaefring and Mrs. Duane (Joyce) Amelon, all of Oxford and Mrs. Steve (Margaret) Hayslett, Iowa City; 18 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Paul, Oxford and Cletus, West Branch and 2 sisters, Mrs. Dave (Mary Kay) Hartley, Englewood, Ohio and Mrs. Mervin (Rita) Perry, Kent, Ohio.
A son and brother preceded him in death.
