Keith Guillory was born in Bunkie, LA. He graduated from Bunkie High School in 1952, from Loyola University New Orleans (B.S. 1956) and from the university of Wisconsin Madison (M.S. 1960, Ph.D. 1961). He taught at Washington State University, pullman WA from 1961-1964 and at the University of Iowa from 1964-1995. He was named Professor Emeritus in 1995.

He published numerous journal articles and book chapters and directed the research work of 19 Ph.D. students and 7 M.S. students. He was a Fellow and a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and received their Research Achievement Award in Pharmaceutical Technologies in 1997.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Alma Guillory of Bunkie, LA, and by his sister, Barbara Guillory Miller and her husband Oakley Miller of Houston, TX.

Among his survivors are his three nieces, Melissa Stonebrook (Victor) of Houston, TX, Cynthia O’Rosky (Martin) of Houston, TX, and Rebecca Boucher (Jerrold) of Pinellas Park, FL, and their children, and also by his cousin, Linda Descant of Alexandria. LA and her children.

Per his request, he has been cremated there will be no funeral service. A Memorial Reception will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 2-4 PM at Oaknoll Retirement Residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Keith Guillory Pharmaceutics Graduate Fellowship or the Oaknoll Foundation, there are links to the memorial donations below.
