Wayne Daniel Kleckner, 86, died peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
Wayne was born January 5, 1936 in Sublette, IL, the son of LeRoy and Anna Katherine (nee Miller) Kleckner. He graduated from Rock Island High School and attended Moline Institute of Commerce Business School. He served in the US Army from 1958-1960. His military career included being stationed in Germany.
He married Patricia May Tisinger on July 31, 1966 in Iowa City, Iowa. Wayne was employed by the Heartland Inn in Coralville Iowa and the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in the Linen Department for most of his career. He was a member of New Horizons Methodist Church in Coralville, IA.
His hobbies included reading especially world history books; wood carving; railroad model crafting; roller skating; ice stating and tap dancing. He is survived by his sister- in-law Janet Kleckner of West Dundee, IL and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pat, parents and brother Jim Kleckner.
