LaVina Brown passed away August 9, 2022 in North Liberty, Iowa. She was 85 years old.

A funeral service for LaVina is scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 11 am at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City). The family will receive guests for visitation from 10-11 am at the funeral home.

LaVina was born April 18, 1937 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of LaFay and Gustine (Fowler) Augustine. LaVina was a very happy and loving woman with a caring heart. She spoke well of everyone she met and was very accepting. She loved her church, LifeHouse Church, and enjoyed spending her time in worship. She was a very talented crocheter and was fond of Wordsearch puzzles. More than anything she loved her family and going through family photos to reminisce. LaVina was one of a kind and will be truly missed.

LaVina is survived by her cherished children, Marie (Montie) Owen, Dale H. (the late Peggy) Brown Jr., LaFay H. (Toni) Brown; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and eleven great great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth (Brigitte) Augustine and Richard (Dick) Augustine; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Sadly, LaVina is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale “Lucky” Harlie Brown Sr.; daughter, Ramona Parrott; granddaughter, Tammy Sue; and brothers, Gaylord, Albert, Clayton and Allen.
