Betty L. Harr, 90, passed away May 23, 2022 at Crestview Nursing & Rehabilitation in West Branch.

According to her wishes, no services are planned. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Faith United Church of Christ in Mattison, Illinois.

Born May 29, 1931 in Chicago Heights, Illinois, where she was raised and graduated from Bloom High School. In 1952, she was united in marriage to Emory Harr in Chicago Heights. Living most of her life in Chicago, where she worked as a secretary for many years.

Betty was a longtime member of St. John United Church of Christ in Chicago Heights, where she served as superintendent of their Sunday school program. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society in Sebring, Florida.

Betty moved to the Iowa City / Coralville area in 2017 to be close to family.

Survivors include her son, Jeff (Alice) of Iowa City; granddaughter, Abbie Linnell and great-granddaughter, Olivia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Emory.
