Walter F. Linnell, 71, of Iowa City passed away Sunday July 24, 2005 at Iowa City Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 27, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City. The Very Reverend Rudolph T. Juarez will officiate. Friends and family may call from 5-8 pm Tuesday with a rosary starting at 5:15 pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers there has been a memorial fund set up in Walter’s name.

Walter was born September 1, 1933 in Iowa City, IA to Walter and Marie (McCarthy) Linnell. He married Mary Vineyard on February 5, 1957, they later divorced. Walter was a member of St. Partrick’s Catholic Church and a honorary member of the VFW.

Walter is survived by his ex-wife Mary Vineyard, six children; Walter of Oak Grove, KY, Debra Conradi of Belmont, MS, Jim (Laurette) of Iowa City, Linda Paris (Kalvin) McLain, MS, Danny of Iowa City, and Sally McGee (Don) of Saint Helens, OR, a sister Annamae Musgrave of Toledo, OH, 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
