Patricia was born on November 26, 1927 in Morse, Iowa to Melvin and Celia (Walsh) Fisher. She grew up in Morse and Solon, graduating from Solon High School in 1945. Pat worked for Iowa Illinois Gas and Electric as a commercial office representative for 30 years, retiring in 1989.

She was a Christian woman who loved the Lord and served him faithfully. She was a devoted and loved member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she was an active member of St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society and enjoyed having coffee and donuts on Sundays after early morning mass. She also was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Daughters of America, Beta Sigma Phi and Red Hat Society.

Patricia had her own printing press business for years and especially enjoyed printing the church bulletins and holy cards. She was honored to have held the “Woman of the Year” Title named by the Old Capital Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association. She was an awesome landlady and was instrumental in assisting many University of Iowa Scholars over the years.
Patricia was an Irish gem with a twinkle in her eye, a contagious laugh and smile, and was very generous to those in need. She was a strong and independent woman of many talents. She had carpentry skills and could build a wall if needed, she was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital, she played basketball in high school. She loved her cats, time at the Ivanhoe cabin, traveling, music, reading, gardening, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Notre Dame, collecting antiques and family artifacts and sharing that knowledge with her family. She had honed the art of visiting to a perfection and so enjoyed getting together with family, sorority sisters, the Sycamore Panera Breakfast Club and Red Hat Society members.

Pat was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by Rita and Jerry Dhondt Family and Pam Lenz, who were an intricate part of her life. She was the best cousin and friend.

A special thank you to Dr. Larew and her family and caregivers at Melrose Meadows.

Pat is survived by many cousins, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and first cousins Dean Lenz, Shirley Brown and Linda Schoenfelder.
