Larry Stevenson, Sr. was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 26, 1954, to his loving mother, Ms. Anna
Weathington, and father, Oree Stevenson who preceded him in death.Larry’s family will receive guests at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City) on Wednesday, November 24, from 10-10:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am. Larry will be laid to rest at Oakhill Cemetery in Iowa City.
Larry attended DuSable High School, Chicago, IL. He received his GED.
Larry accepted Christ under Greater Mountaintop International Christian Ministries.
Larry was a hardworking dedicated man. He began his work years at the LV Steel Mill in Chicago, Illinois.
Upon moving to Iowa he continued his work ethic at Proctor & Gamble in Iowa City, Iowa, where he retired in 2016. He continued to work after his retirement at Dillard’s Department Store in the Coralville Mall.
Larry was the second eldest son of six children. He leaves to celebrate his life, his loving wife, Fannie Stevenson. Two sons, Larry Stevenson, Jr. of Chicago, IL, and James Antoine Faulkner of Coralville, IA, and one daughter, Ashley Stevenson of Chicago, IL. Three granddaughters, Kailyn of North Liberty, IA, Imani of Des Moines IA, and Kellen of Chicago, IL, and one grandson, Jayden of Cedar Rapids, IA. Three brothers, Tahraka Stevenson (deceased), Ralph Stevenson of Chicago, IL, Oree Stevenson of St. Paul, Minnesota, and two sisters, Sharon Rosario (Julio) of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Belinda Hardy of Chicago, IL. He leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
