"PETER GREAZEL DIES TODAY"

"Final Rites For Local Resident, 89, Will Be Held Here Saturday"

Peter Greazel, 89, lifelong resident of Iowa City, died early this morning at a local nursing home after a short illness.

Mr. Greazel, an Iowa City plumber for 48 years, was born in Iowa City June 29, 1860, the son of Albert and Mary Greazel. He was married here to Mary Palachek, who preceded him in death on March 5, 1924.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ella Burger, Mrs. Frank Dvorsky, Mrs. William Cerny, and Mrs. Laura Ward, all of Iowa City; two sons, Edward, of Washington, D.C., and Fred, of Iowa City; one brother, Frank, of Iowa City; 21 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren.

Mr. Greazel also was preceded in death by one son, Otto.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hohenschuh Mortuary. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery here. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Hohenschuh Mortuary.
