Rhoada May (Delfs) Molleston, 83, of Coralville, Iowa, passed away on September 24, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Rhoada was born on April 6th, 1938 in Dysart, Iowa to Raymond and Elva (Raub) Delfs. She graduated from Dysart High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Iowa. She worked as a school nurse in the Davenport Community School District for 30 years.
Rhoada married Max “Joe” Molleston in 1964 in Dysart. They were married for 56 years, until Max’s passing in 2020. Rhoada was a lifelong Hawkeye fan and had season tickets to Iowa football and basketball games. She enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong, watching British mysteries on PBS, and spending time with her grandchildren. Above all else she loved her family and friends.
Rhoada is survived by her daughter, Melissa Molleston (Jim Thibodeau) of Iowa City; grandchildren: Robbie, Jamie and Sydney Thibodeau; brothers: Richard Delfs (Susan) and Galen Delfs (Jeanne) of Dysart and Stanley Delfs (Serge Parino) of Cathedral City, CA.
Rhoada was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her son, Robert Hart Molleston.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 between 9 and 11 am at Lensing’s Oak Hill (210 Holiday Rd, Coralville). Private family burial will be at Dysart Cemetery in Dysart, Iowa.
