Ruth E. Patterson, 87, formerly of Iowa City, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Atrium Village in Hills after a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at10:30 am at Lensing’s Oak Hill in Coralville with Reverend Alecia Williams officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Lensing’s Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road, in Coralville. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
Memorials may be directed to Atrium Village or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Ruth was born October 10, 1917 in Iowa City the daughter of Jesse W. and Jessie F. (Anderson) Green. Ruth graduated from Iowa City High School in 1935 and attended the University of Iowa. On December 5, 1938 she married Gregory R. Patterson. She worked as the office manager & bookkeeper for Wilbur Frantz Construction Co. for 22 years, until her retirement in 1986.
Ruth moved to the apartments at Atrium Village in 1988.

Ruth was a member of American Business Women’s Association and for many years, enjoyed spending the winters in Florida.

She is survived by her three daughters, Jean Prybil & her husband Gerald of Iowa City, Patricia Peterson & her husband Sylvan of Richmond, MN, Susan Berry & her husband Kent of Chapel Hill, NC; six grandchildren, Jeff, Cathy, Deborah, Christine, Lisa and David; eight great grandchildren, Molly, Adam, Kristen, Nicholas, Madison, Max, Elizabeth and Noah; and one brother, Merwyn Green of Bradenton, Florida.

Her parents, husband, sister Helen Roberson, an infant sister Margaret Green, and one son Robert Patterson, all preceded her in death.
