Stephen “Steve” B. Thomas (Stevie B), 74, of Iowa City, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 13th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Lensing Funeral Service, 605 Kirkwood Avenue, in Iowa City, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 pm. Private burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Solon, Iowa.

Instead of flowers & plants, memorial donations may be directed to Systems Unlimited or Camp Courageous.

Steve was born October 24, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Bruce and Helen (Grimm) Thomas. He grew up in the Des Moines area and lived in Steven’s Point, Wisconsin and Cedar Rapids. Later moving to Iowa City in 1987. Steve moved to his Systems Unlimited home September 30, 2000 where he has been roommates with, Scott, Andy and BJ the last 20 years. Steve worked for Goodwill Industries of Eastern Iowa.

Always up for an adventure, Steve enjoyed outings with Camp Courageous friends and his Systems friends and family, taking in bowling and fishing.
Watching sci-fi movies was a favorite pastime and Steve was well known to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeye football team, Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys and of course, the Chicago Cubs!

Survivors include a cousin, Jean Grimm of Solon and many other cousins, good friends and house mates.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
