Duane Lee Hollingsworth, 65, of West Branch died unexpectedly Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Mercy Hospital.

Private Family Services have been held. In lieu of flowers, the Duane Hollingsworth Memorial Fund has been established. Memorials may be directed to Fidelity Bank & Trust, 801 Main St., West Branch, IA 52358.

Duane was born August 14, 1955 in Iowa City, the son of Dean and Mary (Powell) Hollingsworth. Duane was a 1973 graduate of West Branch High School. On September 16, 1978 Duane married Jenny Kabela.

Duane was employed for many years with Cargill. He retired in October of last year.

Duane enjoyed time spent outdoors and liked to hunt. On Saturday mornings Duane would meet his crew for their “safety meetings” at the Midtown. He loved to chit-chat and tease. Most important to Duane was his family.

Duane is survived by his wife, Jenny and their two children, Nikki (Trent) Hansen and Jackson Hollingsworth, both of West Branch; three grandchildren, Cadence, Reid, and Maklynn Hansen; two siblings, Glen and Kim; nieces and nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Ken and Ruth Kabela.
