Stanley C. Carmichael passed away June 15, 2021 in Iowa City. He was 74 years old.

Stan's family will receive guests for a committal ceremony and military honors at the Memory Gardens Cemetery (2600 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City) at 2 pm on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. A gathering time will follow at Scott Park (on 640 Scott Blvd).

Stan was born December 1, 1946, the son of Ulas Eldon and Beulah Irene (nee Freeman) Carmichael. After graduating high school, Stan joined the United States Army and served two years before separating. He worked several jobs after leaving the Army, including working with Moore Business Forms, and driving a truck for Stutzman in Hills, IA, for over 20 years.
When Stan wasn’t working he was usually at the bowling alley. He loved bowling and would bowl, usually, six nights a week. He had an appreciation for the outdoors and used to hunt and fish when he was younger. Stan was a great jokester. He loved his family and cherished the time that he spent with them. Stan will be missed, but his memory will be carried by all who knew him.
Surviving Stan are his daughters, Kristina (Bill) Causse of Salt Lake City, UT and Terra Noel of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Gavin Causse, Olivia Causse, Cassie Noel and Carter Causse; brothers, James (Linda) Carmichael of Hills, IA and Jerry (Judy) Carmichael of Washington, IA; sisters-in-law, Barbara Carmichael (Richard) of Lebanon, TN and Judy Carmichael (Russell) of Wellston, OK; and many, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Sadly, Stan is preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Carmichael, Richard Carmichael, Russell Carmichael, and Phyllis (Joe) Savage; and his parents, Ulas Eldon and Beulah Irene.

A simple cremation has been arranged for Stan. Memorial contributions in Stan’s memory are suggested to the Stan Carmichael Memorial Fund, and can be sent to the funeral home. Please continue to keep Stan’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
