L. M. Hastings, former president of the Iowa State Teachers’ association and a pioneer educator in the state of Iowa, died at his home in Iowa City.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born April 18, 1837 and died March 5, 1916. He is buried in the Oakland Cemetery.
