Patricia Anne Peyton, 84, of Iowa City, died peacefully on March 26, 2021 at her home in Iowa City.

At Patricia’s request, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the Regina Foundation or to a charity of your choice.

Patricia was born on November 21, 1936 in Washington, IA, the daughter of Wilbur Ray “Irish” and Dorothy May (Fritz) Richardson. She was raised in Washington and a graduate from Washington High School. In September of 1956, Patricia married Benjamin Barnes. Patricia and Ben had four children: Benjamin, Paul, Valerie, and William. They divorced after more than twenty years of marriage.

On June 30, 1983, Patricia married Dale C. Peyton in Cedar Rapids, IA. Dale passed away in 1986.

For over 15 years, Patricia worked in construction services administration and engineering for Procter & Gamble. She retired in 1997.

She was an avid reader and loved to travel.

Patricia is survived by her two sons; Benjamin (Robyn) Barnes of Houston, Texas and Paul (Bridgette) Barnes of Coto de Caza, California; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Nick, Heather, Hannah, Gabrielle, Corey, and Josh; siblings, Joseph Richardson and Joanne Bell both of Cedar Rapids, IA and numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Dorothy Richardson; husband Dale Peyton; son William Barnes; daughter Valerie Barnes, brother L. Vernon Richardson, and sister-in-law Beverly Richardson.
