George Richard Black, 88, died peacefully Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Bickford Cottage.

Friends are welcome to attend a Prayer Service which will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, followed by Military Honors. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.

George was born December 4, 1932 in New York, New York. He was adopted and raised by Anthony and Wanda (Kwiatkowski) Pessango. George received a bachelor’s degree and served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1963.

Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer and Diane Pessagno; and his former spouse, Jewell Reynolds.

George was preceded in death by his son, James in 1986 and his biological father Richard Black.
