Charlotte A. Larson, of Iowa City, died Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Legacy Gardens of complications of alzheimers disease.

Charlotte chose to be cremated. Private family services are planned.

Instead of flowers & plants, memorials be directed to Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation. Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service is handling arrangements.

She was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri and obtained her college degree, and later her masters degree in education from Drury College in Springfield. Charlotte was a journalism teacher in Springfield, Missouri Marshalltown and Iowa City City High School.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and good friend. Charlotte enjoyed reading, sewing, painting, playing cards, swimming and golf.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Sandy Green of Iowa City; step-daughter, Karen Larson (Bob Bentley) of Solon; grandchildren, Kerri French (Joe) of Iowa City, Kelli Haught (Thorin Peugh) of Mechanicsville, Gabe Ellis and Jessica Sohn (Jim), all of Phoenix, Arizona and Kalua Ellis of Hawaii, 8 great-grandchildren and a daughter in law Nanci Ellis of Phoenix, Arizona.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Kathryn Goss, her husband Erv, a son Randy Ellis, a step-son Keith Larson and a son in law, Jim Green.

Charlotte’s family thanks the Legacy Gardens staff and Iowa City Hospice for their excellent care and support.
