Clarence Beryl Hall, 84, recent resident of Lawton, Michigan, and former World War II 422nd Infantry Medical Technician, died Memorial Day, May 30, 2005 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Services assisted the family.

The son of Dora and Charles Hall, Mr. Hall was born December 29, 1920 in Platteville, Iowa.

He married Dorothy M. Keenan on June 25, 1941. He earned a BS degree from Iowa State College, 1949, an MS degree from Drake University, 1960, and an MS degree from the University of Iowa, 1970.

Mr. Hall entered military service in 1942 and received an honorable discharge in 1946 following friendly fire injuries. He received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, the American Theater Ribbon, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Ribbon.

Mr. Hall taught vocational agriculture, elementary education, served as Grant Wood Elementary School Principal in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was a school psychologist for the Grant Wood Area Education Agency.

Mr. Hall was a pilot, a life member of the Iowa Historical Society, and a past member of various professional organizations related to his career in education.

Survivors include a younger brother John Hall, Sunrise Beach, MO and three children: Philip Stephen (Susan) Hall, Tipton, Iowa, David Lee (Beth) Hall, State College, PA, and Wincie Anne (Jon) Armiger.

Eight grandchildren include Michael Hall, Erica Willems, Sonya McMulllen, Cristin Hall, Lisa Ballett, Tani Carl, Wincie Nagel and Danielle Rickli.

Six great grandchildren include Tanner Ballett, Trey and Kase Carl, Taylor Rickli, and Noel and Joshua Willems.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and siblings Seigel, Chester, Walter, and Evelyn.

A celebration of life service will be held in Blockton, Iowa at the Blockton, Christian Church on June 2, followed by a military tribute at the Blockton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to local hospice organizations.
