FINE YOUNG MAN DIED EARLY SUNDAY - George Elmer Wagner
George Elmer Wagner died at his home 228 Bloomington Street Sunday morning just after twelve o’clock. He was born near Rockwell City in Calhoun County, Nov, 4, 1894 and was therefore little past twenty-four years of age. He was graduated from the Iowa City high school eight years ago and was married to Miss Hilda Nelson of this city April 11, 1917. The last three years he has been a bookkeeper at the establishment of Hunzinger and Co. and has there given the efficient service that made him a valued employee. For many years of his boyhood days he delivered the Citizen and always proved himself absolutely reliable and capable. So in him we have again an exceeding useful life untimely ended.Aside from his wife, he is survived by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Wagner and two brothers, Paul and Ralph and one sister, Esther at home with the parents. Another brother is Wm. H. Wagner in the employee of Hunzinger and Co. His brother, Leo, lives in Davenport and his other sister is Mrs. Clarence Farr of this city.
Mr. Wagner had been sick only a week. His illness began as influenza and terminated in pneumonia.
